Boys lacrosse: New stat leaders

The 56 points tallied by Garnet Valley's Matt Moore, right, may only be tied for 11th in Delco, but they've been enough to lead the Jags to a share of their first Central League title. (Times Staff/TOM KELLY IV)

Tuesday night brought us resolution on the two big leagues in Delco, with Garnet Valley and Penncrest splitting the Central League title and Haverford School formally wrapping up an outright Inter-Ac title (standings for which are available here). That makes it a good time to check out the stat leaders in the county.

On the goal front, Haverford School’s Forry Smith opened up a gap to 56 tallies, while Eric Haab decided Tuesday against Malvern Prep to dish more assists (three) than he had all season to that point (two). The big move on the board is Penncrest’s Alex Bonnett, in third with 48 markers.

No one is challenging Grant Ament’s 56 for the lead in the assists category, though a crowd is queued up behind Kyle Long (36 ) for second. And Ament’s massive assist tally means he leads in points, with Smith second and Curtis Zappala third, the only three over the 70-point barrier.
