Another successful week and some more travels from Archbishop Carroll keep them at No. 2 in PennLive’s weekly PIAA Class AAA rankings, still a notch behind Neumann-Goretti. The Patriots (10-4) take on Neumann-Goretti this Friday night.
Also of note in the Class AAA rankings is that Glen Mills (11-3) has finally pushed its way into the Others to Watch category. The Battlin’ Bulls, who beat Penn Wood and Academy Park last week, are one of four District One teams in the Class AAA OW category, joining Lower Moreland (14-1), Octorara (15-1) and Pottsgrove (13-4). No District One teams made the class’s top 10.
Four Delco teams continue to hold in the Class AAAA Others to Watch, with Chester (10-4), Academy Park (12-3) and Penn Wood (10-5) representing the Del Val. Ridley (12-3) also remains in that category this week, joining fellow Central League squad Conestoga (12-3) while Lower Merion finds itself out of the rankings for a third straight week.
Three District One teams are among the top 10 in Class AAAA: Plymouth Whitemarsh at six, Abington at eight and Pennsbury at nine.
District 12 owns the top five spots in the rankings, with St. Joseph’s Prep (14-1) rocketing up to fifth. La Salle’s win over Roman Catholic Sunday means those squads flip-flop to one and two, respectively.
