Girls Lacrosse: Super 7, May 12

In advance of the District One girls lacrosse tournament opening Tuesday, here is our latest Super 7 update. For full previews, pick up a copy of Tuesday’s edition of the Daily Times.

1. Garnet Valley (16-1)

The Central League champs are extremely deserving of their No. 1 seed in this year’s District One tournament. The Jaguars host No. 32 Central Bucks East at 4 p.m.

2. Archbishop Carroll (15-3)

The Patriots are a virtual lock for the state tournament and are vying for their record 14th consecutive Catholic League title this week.

3. Springfield (16-3)

The Cougars have only Garnet Valley to blame for their No. 2 seed in the tourney. They’re playing as well as anyone right nowand open District One tournament play against No. 31 Avon Grove.

4. Agnes Irwin (18-1)

Winners of 15 in a row, the Owls are eyeing a Pa. Independent Schools championship.  Hannah Keating, the school’s record-breaker for most career goals, is arguably the best attacker in the county right now.

5. Episcopal Academy (14-3)

The Churchwomen are hoping for a third shot at top-seeded Agnes Irwin in the Independent Schools tourney. If it happens, expect another great game that will go down to the wire.

6. Radnor (14-4)

The  Raiders begin a long and arduous climb back to the PIAA state championship game. Last year, Harriton ended both their District One and state title hopes.

7. Strath Haven (11-6)

Led by tri-captains Kathryn Restrepo, Bri Irons and Lily Kovach (check out their story in Tuesday’s Daily Times) the No 8 Panthers start the District One playoffs with a date against No. 25 Villa Maria.
