In advance of the District One girls lacrosse tournament opening Tuesday, here is our latest Super 7 update. For full previews, pick up a copy of Tuesday’s edition of the Daily Times.
1. Garnet Valley (16-1)
The Central League champs are extremely deserving of their No. 1 seed in this year’s District One tournament. The Jaguars host No. 32 Central Bucks East at 4 p.m.
2. Archbishop Carroll (15-3)
The Patriots are a virtual lock for the state tournament and are vying for their record 14th consecutive Catholic League title this week.
3. Springfield (16-3)
The Cougars have only Garnet Valley to blame for their No. 2 seed in the tourney. They’re playing as well as anyone right nowand open District One tournament play against No. 31 Avon Grove.
4. Agnes Irwin (18-1)
Winners of 15 in a row, the Owls are eyeing a Pa. Independent Schools championship. Hannah Keating, the school’s record-breaker for most career goals, is arguably the best attacker in the county right now.
5. Episcopal Academy (14-3)
The Churchwomen are hoping for a third shot at top-seeded Agnes Irwin in the Independent Schools tourney. If it happens, expect another great game that will go down to the wire.
6. Radnor (14-4)
The Raiders begin a long and arduous climb back to the PIAA state championship game. Last year, Harriton ended both their District One and state title hopes.
7. Strath Haven (11-6)
Led by tri-captains Kathryn Restrepo, Bri Irons and Lily Kovach (check out their story in Tuesday’s Daily Times) the No 8 Panthers start the District One playoffs with a date against No. 25 Villa Maria.
