Baseball: Grossi co-coach of the year on All-Catholic teams

The fortitude of Cardinal O’Hara amidst a deep and balanced Catholic League Red Division has earned manager John Grossi Coach of the Year honors, as voted on by Catholic League coaches.

Grossi has put three players on the first team in pitcher Will Latcham, designated hitter Chris Salvey and infielder John Banes. MVP in the league went to La Salle pitcher Dominic Cuoci, who also took pitcher of the year honors.

Second-team honorees from O’Hara include infielder Colin McGuire and outfielders Nolan Cummings.

Archbishop Carroll has two representatives on the Blue Division first team, outfielder Joe DiWilliams and pitcher Brian Chesky. Bonner-Prendergast’s Richie Tecco is also on the first team. The three Delco representatives are the only first-teamers not claimed by Neumann-Goretti and Archbishop Wood. MVP (Josh Ockimey) and pitcher of the year (Pat Doudican) were garnered by NG players.

Second-teamers include Bonner-Prendie DH Nick Lazer, infielder Danny Healey and pitcher Brad Scull, as well as Carroll catcher J.T. Evangelist and infielder Tom Sparacino.

Below is the full list. (Note: All-Catholic selections are made by Catholic League coaches. The Daily Times has no input whatsoever in the process.
