The threat of severe weather Tuesday night unfortunately limited what we were able to get into the paper, and it was an eventful night for that. Luckily, GameTimePA is the source for all the information, early and late, from last evening. The headliner, clearly, was Interboro’s triumph over Chester in a major Del Val upset, the lead to our hoops roundup. Matthew De George was at another Del Val game, where Academy Park claimed a critical win in the battle for third in the league in hostile territory in Glen Mills. Dillon Friday was on hand to see Penn Wood girls basketball complete an unbeaten run through the Del Val League by topping Chester, while Bonner-Prendergast’s Alyssa Monaghan scored her 1,00th point to lead our roundup.

Those highlights on the basketball court overshadowed Garnet Valley’s appearance in the PIAA Duals, the first Delco school ever to do so. Though they lost, the effort against Parkland was highlighted by John Dambro’s 100th win. In the Inter-Ac, Episcopal Academy also earned a win.

Away from the basketball court, Emma Seiberlich’s outstanding day highlighted Episcopal Academy’s effort at the Inter-Ac Girls Championships, while Andrew Karsh helped lead Upper Darby to a win on the boys side.

And then there’s our National Signing Day advance, told from the side of the colleges (the path leading Villanova to Cardinal O’Hara All-Delco Steve Weyler) and players (like ACC-bound Evan Butts and Thaddius Smith).
