Friday night, a busy hoops night included the Bonner-Prendergast boys being stymied by West Catholic, while Episcopal Academy leads our roundup with a win over Penn Charter. For the girls, Episcopal Academy claimed a vital come-from-behind win over Germantown Academy, the lead to our roundup. Youth was served by Penncrest in a win over Haverford wrestling. In the pool, Matt Haigh led Haverford School to a win over EA, while Maddie Hart’s wins weren’t enough as Haverford dropped a Central League decision to Conestoga. On the ice, Nico Gricco helped Garnet Valley pull away from Strath Haven late, while the Strath Haven girls scored a win over Avon Grove.

The story of Haverford School’s Mickey Kober and his battle with back injuries at the Buckley Duals leads our coverage of wrestling, which also includes a win for Chichester at its home tournament. On the track, Claudine Andre of Upper Darby won gold at Lehigh, while Springfield’s Phillip Thompson set a Haverford College meet record in the long jump. Derrick Jones helped Archbishop Carroll to a win out in Erie, earning the lead to a busy day of hoops. For the girls, Garnet Valley remained unbeaten in the Central League Saturday, while Bonner-Prendergast highlighted Sunday’s Hoops for Hope quadruple-header with a win over Mount St. Joseph.
