The streak is over.

Haverford defeated Lower Merion, 60-57, Wednesday night, handing the reigning PIAA Class AAAA champion its first in-league loss since Jan. 13, 2011.

Lower Merion (0-2, 0-1) had won 44 consecutive games against Central League opponents before losing to Haverford, a streak that covered parts of three seasons. The Aces hadn’t lost to the Fords since the 2006-07 season.

Ryan Clancy led Haverford (3-0, 1-0) with 15 points and Jack Donaghy tallied 11 in the win. The Fords’ free-throw shooting made the difference, with Haverford hitting all but two of its 14 foul shots in the fourth quarter.

Lower Merion got 17 points from JaQuan Johnson, while Tom Leibig totaled nine points for Haverford.
