Monday was a decently busy day in the pool, with Radnor’s Brian McKeon and the Smolyansky sisters, Sasha and Tatyana, leading the Raiders boys and girls teams to wins over Lower Merion. Speaking of Radnor swimming, the preview of the boys swim season focuses on the three holdovers from last year’s PIAA finalist medley relay team, Eli Avart, Ryan Freedman and Mitchell Gartland, and their quest for a county record. Plus, there’s a look at some of the big stories in the pool for the boys this year. On the frozen water, Brendan George did all he could for Archbishop Carroll, but two goals and an assist didn’t prevent the Patriots from dropping an exciting 5-3 decision to Archbishop Ryan, plus a few other games on the pond.
