The District One Class AAA field hockey tournament got underway Monday. Garnet Valley needed Dana Davis‘ overtime heroics and a pair of Molly Savage goals to fend off Avon Grove, 3-2. Strath Haven scored an upset by upending Council Rock North, 2-0, but Haverford wasn’t quite as fortunate in a 3-2 loss to Council Rock South. Radnor fell victim to rival Conestoga in a 9-3 loss, marking the end of the Raiders’ season and of coach Angel DiRocco‘s tenure.

The District One Class AAA volleyball gets going today. Garnet Valley and Jenna Hostetler are using that as motivation for a title after losing in the Central League championship to Strath Haven.

Radnor boys soccer has dealt with severe injuries this year, but the Raiders are closer because of it, as the District One preview details. Bonner-Prendergast had no answers for Father Judge in a season-ending 3-0 loss in the Catholic League playoffs.

On the golf front, Marple Newtown All-Delco Sam Soeth and Radnor’s Brynn Walker struggled a bit on the first day of the state tournament, but both can still walk away with medals.

Both Episcopal Academy’s boys and girls cross country teams took home third place at the Inter-Ac championships at Belmont Park.
