Ally Scanlon‘s improvement as Springfield field hockey’s goalie was on full display against Strath Haven, but a late Kristen Baschoff goal sealed a 2-1 win for the Panthers.

In other field hockey action, Annette Helmandollar buried an overtime penalty stroke to give Interboro a 1-0 win over Academy Park in one of three overtime games in the county.

Colleen Donnelly bashed 17 kills to help Notre Dame volleyball outlast Germantown Academy, 3-1, in the teams’ Inter-Ac opener.

Derrick Baun‘s ridiculous 40-yard chip on the ninth hole spurred Springfield golf past Cardinal O’Hara, 226-228.

Joey Fitzgerald helped Academy Park boys cross country break a years-long meet losing streak with a 15-50 rout of Chester.

On the girls cross country front, it was Marin Bloise and Sarah Davies leading Agnes Irwin to a 23-34 win over Notre Dame.

Kristen Miller, Sophia Murphy and Katherine Burk supplied the offense in Strath Haven girls soccer’s 3-0 win over Springfield.

It was Evan Needs 3, Atlantic Christian 2 as The Christian Academy’s boys soccer All-Delco took care of all the offense for the Crusaders.

John Zipf went off for The Haverford School’s water polo team with 10 goals in an 18-8 rout of Muhlenberg.
