It all seemed to happen at once.

One by one, the commitments became public seemingly one after the other. All told, five Delco players announced where they’ll be playing in college.

Radnor 2016 attackman/midfielder Jack Wilson led the convoy when he announced that he had committed to Maryland. Wilson, who plays his club ball for NXT 2016, was arguably the best freshman in the county this past season as he scored 20 goals for a Raiders team that won the Central League and made it to states.

Penncrest 2014 All-American attackman Will Manganiello issued a verbal declaration to attend Delaware. Manganiello played for NXT 2014 on the club circuit and had a big year for Penncrest, scoring 47 goals and dishing out 17 assists in helping the Lions to the second round of districts.

Joining Manganiello on the Blue Hens’ roster will be Jake Hervada, a 2015 Fords FOGO. Hervada took the second-most amount of faceoffs for Haverford this year, claiming 45 of 85 faceoffs at the X for a 52.94 percent winning percentage.

Finally, the 2016 Haverford School duo of attackman/midfielder Dox Aitken and midfielder Luke Desperito committed to Virginia, as per Inside Lacrosse’s Ty Xanders. Aitken scored five goals and dished out seven helpers for the Fords this year, while Desperito, who plays for Duke’s, chipped in a pair of goals.

I hope to have more information on each player in the coming days. All five players have been added to the master list of college commitments.
