History was made Tuesday afternoon by the Garnet Valley boys lacrosse team, which earned an emotional victory in the name of Haverford School lacrosse player Kip Taviano. In other PIAA boys lacrosse action, Brendan Manderack did all he could, but it still wasn’t enough as Radnor fell to La Salle. On the girls side, Shannon Quinn’s OT winner settled the battle of Radnor in the favor of the Red Raiders, while Springfield toppled Strath Haven in an emotional game.

On the diamond, a late-inning eruption by Chichester got them past Sun Valley and into the District One title game, while Bonner-Prendergast made another addition to its trophy case by winning the District 12 Class AAA title with easy. And finally on the gridiron, the Interboro’s Nick Rentos is ready to trade a baseball for a football and a Hero Bowl jersey.
