Jonathan Vandenberg tied up the District One boys lacrosse championship game with 11.6 seconds to go, but Bryce Reid‘s goal with 0.8 ticks to go gave Avon Grove a 5-4 win over Garnet Valley for the Red Devils’ first district title. On the girls side, Harriton also made history with its first title by fending off a furious late Springfield rally to win, 12-10. MC Curran was unstoppable in the draw circle and because of it, Episcopal Academy claimed its third straight PAISAA title by beating Friends’ Central, 19-10. In baseball action, The Haverford School’s Pat Valentine went yard and shut down The Hill School to help the Fords beat the Blues, 2-1, in the PAISAA tournament.
