The Emilys – Verica, Paulus and Santana – were at the forefront of Springfield girls lacrosse’s 16-4 drubbing of Pennsbury in District One second-round action. On the boys side, Ridley wasn’t so lucky as Avon Grove came on strong in the second half to seal an 11-4 win. At the District 12 track championships, Allison Sharkey had a big hand in helping Cardinal O’Hara win the 4 x 400. On the boys side, Bonner-Prendergast’s Will Sullivan didn’t win the 800, but he did manage to book a ticket to states. Rachel Swindt transferred from Cardinal O’Hara to Bonner-Prendergast and fittingly enough, she helped the Pandas beat her old teammates, 2-0, in Catholic League quarterfinal softball action. The rest of the schools roundup leads with Episcopal Academy girls lacrosse getting 12 saves from Lindsey Reder to beat Notre Dame, 11-10, to seal a perfect Inter-Ac season.
