Track: Upper Darby gets an Olympic visit

Back in February, Manteo Mitchell and Fawn Dorr threw down the Twitter guantlet.

Mitchell, a silver medalist in London in the 4 x 400 relay who famously ran the final 200 meters of his preliminary leg with a broken fibula, and Dorr, an NCAA champion in her days at Penn State, were looking for dedication in the high school track ranks nationwide. With an open calendar, they opened it up to Twitter: Show them what your program was all about, and they’d stop by for a visit. With a free calendar ahead of Penn Relays this week, the stars aligned.

The winner of that contest was Upper Darby. Thanks to this video, produced entirely by the student-athletes, Dorr and Mitchell were immediately impressed. And they’ll be stopping by for a visit this Wednesday.
