Chester’s Rondae Jefferson dropped in his 1,000th career point en route to helping Chester down a feisty Williamsport team, 67-50, in the second round of the PIAA Class AAAA boys basketball tournament. Upper Darby wasn’t quite as fortunate as the Royals had their season finish in a 79-62 loss to Harrisburg. In Flyers Cup action, Springfield All-Delco Ryan Brawley – who else? – came through in the clutch yet again to send the Cougars into the final with a 4-3 win over West Chester Henderson. The first day of the PIAA swimming championships featured Archbishop Carroll breaking some school records.
