It’s taken a while for us to get these up here, but you can close your weekend by getting caught up on two busy days of high school action.

From Friday night, Matt Smith was on hand to watch Episcopal Academy girls basketball claim a vital win over Notre Dame in the quest for an Inter-Ac title, plus all the other girls basketball action that survived the snow. Matt Chandik was on hand to watch Nate Chuckran and JP Page produce some late magic as Penncrest hockey tied Garnet Valley in a thriller. Friday’s boys hoops action is led by another clutch performance from Haverford School’s Shawn Alson in the Fords overtime triumph over Malvern Prep. In the pool, Elizabeth Verzella keyed a Haverford win over Harriton to lead the schools roundup.

From Saturday, Matt Chandik got to witness Glen Mills’ Jah-bree Alleyne take over in overtime as the Battlin’ Bulls escaped with a win against Upper Darby. Also on the hardwood, Garnet Valley’s team offense proves too much for Interboro girls. Steve Lienert was on hand for the Vanguard Invitational, where All-Delco Joe Gartland’s performance vaulted Penncrest into the honor of top Delco finisher. Strath Haven All-Delco Jack Huemmler took down a school record in the mile to highlight the track action.
