In a clash of two-time defending state champions in the marquee game of the Pete and Jameer Nelson Classic, Matt Chandik explains how Daily Times Player of the Year Rondae Jefferson and Chester teammate James Kirksey came through in the clutch for the Clippers to knock off Imhotep, 63-61. Markuan Stutts and Matt Angelos had big efforts to help Episcopal Academy the Garnet Valley Varsity Club Tournament title. Matt Smith has the story on how Sun Valley’s Shayna Orr came through with another big game as the Vanguards beat Interboro, 53-36, in the Interboro Holiday Tournament. Sarah Abbonizio and Meghan Pickell spurred Episcopal Academy to a Garnet Valley Varsity Club Tournament win over the host Jaguars by a 54-25 score, as told by Matthew De George. Two-time track All-Delco Wellington Zaza of Garnet Valley set some more records at the Robert J. Burdette Classic at Lehigh University. Really, it will be news when Zaza doesn’t set records at this point.
