Chichester softball player Michelle Hagarty made it official Friday morning.
The two-time All-Delco shortstop signed her Letter of Intent with La Salle University.
Hagarty led the Eagles to the District One Class AAA playoffs last season, ending the program’s long postseason drought.
A five-tool standout and arguably the top returning player in the county, Hagarty hit .495 with 24 RBIs and boasted a .654 on-base percentage. She also slammed six home runs.
In the Eagles’ District One Class AAA loss to Springfield, Hagarty reached base all six times she came to the plate.
“All she does is hit,” said one rival coach. “If she isn’t one of the top players in the area, she’s close to the top.”
Hagarty will join fellow All-Delco shortstop Emily Moran (Archbishop Prendergast) at La Salle in 2013.
